The couple sits at the head of the main table facing the room, with the bride on the groom's right. The bride's mother and then her father usually sit beside the groom, and the groom's parents beside the bride, followed by the witnesses and close family. It is a custom rather than a rule, and more relaxed weddings often skip it.

Do not seat divorced parents next to each other. It works well to give each of them their own table with their own people, both the same distance from the head table so neither feels pushed aside. Treat a parent's new partner as an ordinary guest and seat them together.

You can lay out the tables and seat guests in a free account. Saving the seating chart with guests filled in from RSVP comes with the Medium and Premium plans, paid once when you publish the site. You can then come back and change the plan right up to the wedding day.

A round table usually takes 8–10 guests; for a rectangular one it depends on the length. In the tool you set the number of chairs per table yourself.
